Deck Reimagine and Rebuild

The Problem: Existing wood deck was literally rotting to pieces and was unsafe to go on.  With new family moving in, the home owner was concerned that the deck would fall apart.

The Solution: Demo the existing deck and rebuild.  Natural 2x6 western tight knot cedar was picked as the decking material of choice to match with the existing look and feel of the house. A custom steel rail was fabricated to allow a more seamless transition with the surrounding trees and view. A triangular drop down addition was added to the original deck footprint to capitalize on space and the view.
