We added wainscoting for texture and proportion, painted the walls clean, and refinished the existing floors so they read brand-new without a single board being replaced.
New shades control the Pacific Northwest light instead of fighting it, and a replaced door fixed a draft that had been there for years. Five small moves, one transformed room.
